  1. Bureau of Meteorology,

What value can a national meteorological organisation add to that country's agricultural industry? The Bureau of Meteorology is trying to find out. In July 2018 the Australian Bureau of Meteorology restructured itself to better align its services with customer needs. Emerging from the restructure was an Agriculture Program devoted to adding value to Australia's agriculture industry. The Bureau's Agriculture Program is a small, ragtag team of meteorologists and climatologists led by an agro-economist with one goal in mind: add $300M worth of new value to Australia's agriculture industry by 2022. Now, two years into this mission, this talk is about what the Bureau's agriculture program is doing to add value and some lessons learned over the last two years.
